One Crazy Night of Many

My son misses his daddy and he shows it by waking up at 2am and crying for over and hour. This Tim’s though, I was trying to calm him down and rock him when he started to fall asleep on my shoulder.

All of the sudden my son’s head springs off my shoulder and he slides himself to the floor and lays down there. I follow suit and lay down next to him.

My son keeps opening his eyes to see if I’m there so I wait awhile and then I quietly run and grab my foam mattress pad and my pillow.

I slept there the rest of the night and I woke up to blinding sun in my face and to my son hitting me with a package of crackers he found in the diaper bag.

I opened the crackers for him, thinking it might buy me a few more minutes of sleep when instead I was fed a snack regardless of if I wanted it or not.

I was happy to atleast get a little sleep but I will be very happy when he goes back to his old habit of sleeping through the night. Until then I will be grateful for any sleep no matter where it may be.

This vs That

I’m trying to start eating healthier. Not healthy, just healthier than I normally would. We just got back from a trip and with no food in the house we had to go find something for breakfast. I would normally go grab donuts, but instead we got everything bagels with strawberry cream cheese.

I tried to use that way of thinking for all of my grocery shopping, and made sure to stay away from the junk food isles so I wouldn’t be tempted.

I think I bought healthier stuff that I will still enjoy eating. Hopefully I can start a new habit of it!

He Doesn't Know It

He doesn’t even know what is happening soon, and that he will be able to rip open this paper, and make a big mess.

He doesn’t know that he’s already seen what’s inside, and that he was there most of the times that they were bought (or made!).

He doesn’t know that there will be cake, and that there will be a cake of his very own or that there will be a party.

He doesn’t know that family and friends will be coming to celebrate him and his first year or that he will be able to spend some quality time with his daddy.

He doesn’t understand, but hopefully someday he will.

His birthday will be arriving soon, and all of these presents are from him from family that loves him. He doesn’t need anything, but being the cute boy he is, everyone wants to get him something! He’s a lucky boy, happy first birthday to my son!

Party Time Because We Have a Floor!

My son’s birthday and party are coming up and I am trying to get everything ready, I’m super excited about the fact that we have floor space in our office now! (I say ‘our’ but it’s really my husband’s. It’s getting commandeered for the party, end of story sweetie!)

The desk along the wall is a corner desk, but we don’t have any 90 degree corners that aren’t covering the bookcase so I took out the corner and put both sides against the wall. Between that and the folding table we will have an awesome area to put the food!

Now, if only someone could come over and file for me, that would be great.

He Drives Me Crazy!

The dog has taken over my bed and is snoring again. Not to mention he just had his first tick medicine so who knows if there are any ticks still living on him.

He bugs me to death sometimes but he is still an amazing addition to our family. Most of all he is a best friend to my one year old son.

I was thinking of all the things that drive me crazy and I remembered how my son’s face lit up this morning after he saw Buddy and waved excitedly. Someone that brings that much joy can take up too much of the bed and snore. Just like my son’s daddy that does the same thing, and gives my son the same happiness.

Arizona Mama's Contest

Arizona Mama and Game Stop are doing a giveaway, and they ask some fun questions to get you excited for the holidays.

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?

My holiday wish is for my family to relax from the craziness! We’re too busy and stressed all the time (just like everybody else!) and I would love to relax and get a fresh look at things.

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?

We wake up super early and line up from the youngest to oldest and run down the stairs to see what santa brought.

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

I would want my SD card from my camera (which was in a freak accident that caused it to fall into the Boston Harbor after getting a week’s worth of non-replicable photos, but that’s a story for another blog post)

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

Spending time with my family and enjoying all the fun traditions of baking, crafting, and enjoying the season.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

Uno and Phase Ten were our favorites. We also were blessed with a huge cupboard full of board games that I liked. I’m still working on my own collection, it’s ok though, I’m going yard-sailing tomorrow 🙂

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

Most of them I still go home and enjoy with my family, but we make sure that the decorating and music are made special by not starting until after thanksgiving.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

I would love to go see my grandparents at their home in Utah, there they would have some of the same traditions as we do, but we could have a white Christmas.

8. Check out GameStop (link to: http://bit.ly/gamestop10) and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?

My husband wants a PlayStation so that he can play games with his brother in Massachusetts. We also want the new Call of Duty (I loved fighting Nazi-Zombies!) The other game I know he really enjoyed was the newest Halo.

It was fun answering these questions, it makes me realize that Christmas is coming, and I have lots of crafting to get started on!
